Is Bankruptcy the Answer???

The Sun-Sentinel in Florida reported today that Washington is now promoting Bankruptcy as a solution as opposed to a bailout for many American companies. Senator Christopher Dodd, a large proponent of the bailout from its inception, “I am very much attracted to the prepackaged bankruptcy idea”, moving away from his previous position. How many smaller companies will not s payments when these companies go into reorganization? How many smaller companies not capable of “re-organizing’ will bite the dust forever, and then lose homes, and put employees back on the street? Is this bankruptcy thing a cop-out, or a strategy?

The End of the Reagan Era

According to TIME magazine, the election of Obama “..signals the end of the Reagan era.” Reagan rejected Big Government, cut taxes, and intensely pursued deregulation. Small business now faces a new landscape: how will increased regulation, a change in the tax structure, and changes in Government affect us? Will increased top-line revenue offset any new taxes, and if not, will Government spending trickle down to the small employers in this country?
